Me and my friends all said that our first cars were gonna be classic Muscle cars, and I have about 10 grand, I wanted a first gen Camaro, but that’s out cuz it’s too expensive, so should I buy a 1967 Mustang, or a Stingray Corvette?
And no, they wont cost me much more, most of the Mustangs ive seen are around 9 grand, and the only way a stingray vette would cost more is if it was a 1969, I mean more like ‘75, and decent Camaros go for around 15-20 grand. I know its retarded, but my main issues are that Corvettes only have 2 seats, and normally that wouldnt matter, but I got alotta homies and chicks that i’d like to give rides to (of course, they provide gas money) and the other is that my family isnt a "Ford Family" so im not very fond of the brand, that model is the only model Mustang I like, so I need some opinions.
here in vegas some ppl must be desperate, since ive seen and tested many perfectly good Classic Mustangs and Stringrays for under 10 grand, bodywork fine, no rust, working engines, so that’s why i’m asking, i really don’t know what to get.

If i had the money, i’d buy Corvette. It’s way nicer then Mustang, but that’s my personal opinion.

Stingrays and Mustangs are both beautiful cars, and it is all a matter of opinion on which one to go with. As you said, the vette can only fit two people which can be a restriction if you are constantly pulling around more than one other person. The mustangs can seat five people. Older cars require more care and repairs so check out how much parts generally cost. Either one of those cars are a prize.

If you spend 10 grand on a 60s or early 70s Mustang or Corvette it won’t have an engine or anything. I saw a Mustang BODY no lights no seats no glass for $4000.
As far as they late 70s go almost everything was trash and you’d want the engine out as soon as you got it just because Toyota Camrys have more powerful engines. The Mustang flat out sucked. The Corvette was lucky enough to still have decent acceleration (0-60 in 6.8S), most of them will still be over $10,000 though. An 80s-early90s Corvette could be found under $10,000 fairly easily I believe though, still not the best bargain out there.
If you really know whats good for you you’ll buy a late 90s Camaro/Firebird you could even probably get a 2002 model for under $10,000. That gets you 300hp+, EFI, an aluminum block and 0-60 in something like 5 or 6 seconds.
You could even change your mind and get a Japanese car and you could easily have one that is faster than a "muscle car" vette after all
a $2000 Eclipse GS-T/GSX from 1990 can do 0-60 in 6.8 as well (at least according to musclecarclub.com).
Mazda RX-7s are hampered by a crappy engine design but still manage to get to 60 in 6.5seconds for 80s models and 5.1seconds for 90s models. Put an LS1 out of a wrecked camaro in one and you’ve got a wicked car.
Nissan 300ZX TTs come with a fairly nice engine from the get go making 5.X 0-60. You can probably find one for less than $7000.
Nissan 240SXs would need an engine swap or turbo kit to be competitive in a straight line but they’ll take corners like a hot knife through butter and you are looking at $2500-5000 on average. A $1600 SR20DET swap kit will give you everything you need to hit 6 second 0-60, then it’s only a couple mods from 4-5.
