CGR: ROCK BAND 3 Demo preview from E3 2010
Classic Game Room talks about the Rock Band 3 demo from E3 2010 and talks about what experienced musicians can expect with the new game from Harmoix. This is a look back at the MTV Games booth where 7 people played Rock Band 3 for a demonstration. They used a keyboard (keytaur!), two backup singers, lead vocal, drums, guitar and bass. The one guitarist played a REAL guitar with Rock Band 3 and was scored in the game on Rock Band 3 Pro mode (Rock Band 3 professional mode). The game will have some accessories that support MIDI so that you can use other guitars and keyboards. Available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 PS3.

@konio83 You have to understand though, MIDI guitar adapters aren’t exactly simplistic, They either have to sit under the strings at the base of the guitar, or you have a box that you put on the audio cable in-between the guitar and then pass-through to your amp.

i dont play guitar but i play drums and ma bands guitarists and ma wee brother showed me how to read tabs…… how will that work tho? if you need to play the tab thats a lot of information to cram into the games note slides for it to work, therfore why not just play without the game if its the same thing? only use is it provides a backing track I spose

@AlexxxPerales there are some videos on that from E3 actually…basically when playing pro guitar or pro drums, you have to play the specialized instruments a specific way. They will be using tabulature instead of colors. Of course in regular mode you can use your old instruments.

I don’t know what model they’re basing the pro-mode guitar off of, but I’d guess the Mustang.

Looking forward to interactive tabs. Seriously, I’m sick of going on sites that give you 9 pop-ups with firewall for every page you go to. Also, I’m not sure it’s exactly healthy for your computer to go there. It’s Spam City, after all.
