Classic Game Room E3 Report: Nintendo 3DS and Flying Camera Overhead
Classic Game Room reports from the Nintendo Conference where the Nintendo 3DS was announced. CGR was able to briefly play with a 3DS and it’s the real deal. True 3D without the glasses, it’s like you’re peering down into the screen because it has depth. It looks surprisingly cool and will blow away many skeptical people when they see it. Games announced are Kid Icarus and other top shelf Nintendo titles and 3rd party releases. Check out a shot of Zelda in the background as well as the flying HD camera overhead which is a Sony HDcam.

@WebVMan AFAIK the technology Nintendo uses limits the view distance to about 30 cm maximum. Further than that, the effect won’t work. Of course this would not be a problem with a handheld.

It’s cool to hear impressions from someone who traditionally doesn’t enjoy 3D. I am very excited for the 3DS, but as someone who gets headaches at 3D movies I was a bit concerned a might not be able to enjoy it. My mind is much more at ease now.
