From Valve, the brilliant group of humans who brought us Portal and Half Life 2, comes Left for Dead! Zombies, zombies, rah rah rah! It’s 28 Days Later meets a video game made to feel like 28 Days Later with excellent controls and 4-player gameplay. Released in 2008 Left 4 Dead has set the gold standard for 4 player co-op shooters over Xbox Live where teamwork and group zombie-slaughter is the name of the game. Choose from one of four characters, stock up on some health and weapons and plow your way through four levels chock full of zombies, witches, smokers and tanks. Like many popular Xbox 360 video games, once the sequel (Left for Dead 2) was released the price of the original fell below NES game cartridge levels and can be easily had anywhere today for the cost of a pizza. This CGR review of Valve’s Left 4 Dead has L4D gameplay from Xbox 360 showing Left 4 Dead game play during the review.

This is a look back at the MTV Games booth where 7 people played Rock Band 3 for a demonstration. They used a keyboard (keytaur!), two backup singers, lead vocal, drums, guitar and bass. The one guitarist played a REAL guitar with Rock Band 3 and was scored in the game on Rock Band 3 Pro mode (Rock Band 3 professional mode). The game will have some accessories that support MIDI so that you can use other guitars and keyboards. Available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 PS3.

It looks surprisingly cool and will blow away many skeptical people when they see it. Games announced are Kid Icarus and other top shelf Nintendo titles and 3rd party releases.

Classic Game Room HD reviews 100 CLASSIC BOOKS for Nintendo DS from Nintendo and Harper Collins. The portable bookshelf for your Nintendo DS filled with 100 classic novels like Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, Wuthering Heights (in semaphore?), A Tale of Two Cities, Frankenstein, The Time Machine, Black Beauty, Phantom of the Opera, 20,000 Leauges Under the Sea, Heart of Darkness, War and Peace and more! Books from writers such as Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Jules Verne and H.G. Wells are included in this collection as well as some biographical information. This is an ideal travel companion for those who want to bring 100 classics books along on vacation and also play Mario Kart DS. Scrap the laptop and iPad, they can’t play GTA Chinatown Wars on the Nintendo DS. After moving down gang members with an Uzi, you can relax and end your day by reading Emma from Jane Austen. This CGR review of Nintendo’s 100 Classic Books has gameplay (sort of) from 100 Classic Books on Nintendo DS.

Part 2 of 3. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED for the Xbox 360 video game console. The 360 comes alive with this amazing sleeper hit from 2007, TDU is awesome! Cockpit driving mode, Lamborghini, Ferrari and an enormous island to explore at your whim at high speed! This driving game is incredible and very affordable today, I picked up my copy used and have played for hours and hours already. If you like Forza 2 or Gran Turismo 5 you’ll LOVE this game! Explore one of the islands of Hawaii and race in a variety of time trials, races, competitions and speed tests. Drive hitchhikers and hot models from one side of the island to the other. Weave in and out of traffic with reckless abandon and run from the Police. It’s kind of like Grand Theft Auto without the guns, in that you have a huge environment to explore and drive this awesome collection of cars and spend money on houses and stuff. Cars and motorcycles in the game include Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Ascari, Noble, Nissan, Ducati, Kawasaki, Jaguar, Ford, Chevy Corvette, Shelby, Saleen and RUF. You can download new cars on Xbox 360 Live and race against other people online. Definately worth getting. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The reviews on the HD series are reviewing PS3, PS2, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. XBLA. videos review reviews show

This CD version of the amazing Neo-Geo AES plays many of the same games in CD form. Plagued by awful loading times thanks to the 1x speed CD drive in the game system, the NeoGeo CD is the least popular Neo Geo out there but CGR thinks it is a good buy for those looking for SNK games and Japanese release for a better price. The Neo Geo CD has no region encoding and will play Japan region Japanese Neo Geo video games (I’ve only tested with an NTSC Neo Geo CD). The Neo Geo CD has composite video, S-Video and stereo audio. Plays audio CDs. Neo Geo CD consoles can be had for a fraction of the price that the Neo Geo AES and Neo-Geo MVS sell for. Games are usually much less money as well. This CGR review of the Neo Geo CD shows the game console in HD with numerous NeoGeo CD games.

Classic Game Room HD reviews the infamous ATARI 5200 controller for the Atari 5200 video game system from 1982. This analog controller with keypad is notorious for having problems nearly 30 years after its release. The innards fall to pieces, buttons stop working and the joystick is like mush. However if you want to play some awesome Atari 5200 games, and there is a huge complete list of amazing Atari 5200 games, then you’re pretty much stuck with the OEM stock Atari 5200 controller. You can buy parts to repair it yourself or purchase refurbished Atari 5200 controllers, and Wico made some aftermarket controllers, but those options are costly. Ignoring those major problems, how does the Atari 5200 controller stack up against other joysticks and controllers from video game consoles past and present? Watch the review for a complete technical presentation reviewing this piece of Atari history. Classic Game Room HD reviews joysticks and video game accessories for retro old school game systems and the new consoles like Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Thie Time Splitters 2 review shows gameplay from the game and explains why the Timesplitters series is one of the best video game series ever created. Cortez is back and badder than ever in the sequel to the amazing Time Splitters. Although TS2 is available on the Playstation 2 PS2, being that this is NINTENDO WEEK on Classic Game Room we picked up this Gamecube copy for $2.50 and love it! What a great deal on an excellent game! The Time Splitters games are from Free Radical, who should be hard at work on Time Splitters 4 by now for PS3 and Xbox 360 and maybe Wii. It is a science fiction, comedy, zombie, adventure, parody first person shooter FPS video game with loads of weapons from different time periods from the past and future. Use laser guns, tommy guns, plasma autorifles, revolvers and flamethrowers all in one game. Behead zombies, save maidens and invade the UFO base. Timesplitters 2 is in between Timesplitters 1 and Timesplitters Future Perfect (aka Time Splitters 3). It bridges the gap nicely, has the awesome multiplayer mode and looks outstanding on the Nintendo Gamecube. Many people think that the Gamecube version of this game is better than the PS2 version. CGR can’t recall much of a difference, it rocks on the Gamecube (CGR played it on the Nintendo Wii acting as a Gamecube using the standard Gamecube controller). If you have a Wii or Gamecube and want an affordable, fun shooter them this is your game. Lots of cool missions await you and there’s tons of exciting things to shoot in Time Splitters 2! Classic Game Room is the ultimate retro video game review show for classic games and old school gamers! Reviewing old school and new games since 1999. Sadly we don’t have a look at, trailer for or info about Time Splitters 4 but we hope to soon!

This 2D version of the popular Virtua Fighter 2 is very different yet very similar to the polygon-laden Sega Saturn version. The moves are similar, as is gameplay. A few characters are missing and the visuals are dramatically different but the game still kicks virtua ass. This CGR review of Virtua Fighter 2 on Sega Genesis (aka Sega Mega Drive) has gameplay from Virtua Fighter 2 on the 16-bit Sega Genesis showing Virtua Fighter 2 gameplay in HD action. This is a one or two player 1 or player fighting game that plays with a three or six button Sega Genesis (Megadrive) controller. Virtua Fighter 2 is easy to find and lots of fun.
